About Sligo Stroke Support Group run by the Irish Heart Foundation.
The Stroke Support Group is held the second Thursday or the month in Ballisodare community centre, Sligo from 12.15pm to 2.15pm. The group provides peer support for Stroke Survivors and their families or carers, information, guest speakers, social engagement and activities, and an all-important cup of tea.
What's Involved
We would love to recruit a few more volunteers that could come to the Ballisodare Community Centre from 12.15pm to 2.15pm on the second Thursday of each month.
You will mingle with members and their carers, help with tea and coffee and maybe even some games and a social chat.
We would like you to have:
Good English – (As our stroke survivors may have communication difficulties)
Some experience working with vulnerable adults.
Own transport as it is outside of Sligo town (Ballisodare Community Centre).
Volunteers are required to complete mandatory training, IHF induction, GDPR and safeguarding training will be provided.
