What's Involved
Over 600 volunteers are being sought to work at the Dublin 2018 World Para Swimming Allianz European Championships which are being held at the National Aquatic Centre in Blanchardstown next August from Monday 13th to Sunday 19th.
A broad range of volunteers will be needed to ensure that the Championships run smoothly and will be remembered as an event that we can all be proud of. Volunteers can register their interest in any of the following areas of involvement:
1. Accreditation Team – responsible for distributing accreditation (access passes) to teams, technical officials, VIP etc. This may also include ticket distribution/sales to those who do not have accreditation.
2. Anti-Doping – act as Anti-Doping chaperones (training will be provided) to assist with athlete identification and notification for sample collection.
3. Event Operations - presenter chaperones, medal ceremonies volunteers, flag bearers, sport presentation assistance, sponsorship and commercial support.
4. Media Services – working with our media and broadcast team to assist with photography management, schedules, results, interviews, set-up etc.
5. Medical Services – physio’s, massage therapists, doctors, first aiders
6. Athlete Services – working at the sport information desk, provide organisation and access control in team preparation areas, manage the athlete lounge and athlete seating
7. Sport Competition – running the field of play, warm-up area, kit-collection, coaches pen etc.
8. Transport Services – drivers, load zone volunteers, transfer schedules etc.
9. Venue Operations – spectator seating, way-finding, spectator services, hospitality management, merchandising, venue communications (radio protocol) etc.
