The Alzheimer Society of Ireland works across the country in the heart of local communities providing dementia specific services and supports and advocating for the rights and needs of all people living with dementia and their carers. Our vision is an Ireland where no one goes through dementia alone and where policies and services respond appropriately to the person with dementia and their carers, at the times they need support.
What's Involved
Having a beautiful safe garden enables persons with dementia to relax and enjoy nature. Our volunteer gardener would be expected to tend the garden - weeding, pruning, clearing, sweeping and planting. Using gardening equipment ensuring the garden is safe for everyone using it.
What's required for this position
We require someone with a good knowledge of gardening preferably with a qualification and with a number of years experience as an employed or amateur gardener. An independent knowledge of plants and experience in a similar role caring for an extensive garden with a wide range of plants is desirable.
