Voluntary Service International (VSI) is the Irish branch of Service Civil International, a worldwide peace movement that began in 1920. We work to promote peace, social justice, sustainable development and intercultural understanding through volunteering abroad and in Ireland.
What's Involved
Grangebeg is a small land-based Camphill community which was established in 2006 for adults who have intellectual disabilities. The community is responsible for the care and management of 46 acres of land on which they keep a small herd of cattle, sheep, pigs and chickens. VSI is looking for an Irish resident to volunteer in our farm and gardening project in Camphill Community at Grangebeg from August 27th until September 3rd, 2017.
The Role:
The volunteer will help carry out the work on the community grounds and gardens around the houses and enjoy some cultural gatherings, celebrations and outings. The work includes organic farming gardening (planting, weeding and harvesting), as well as maintaining the woodlands and paths on the Community's land.
Those interested in volunteering for this role should apply by 7th August in order to allow time for Garda Vetting.
