About Mitchelstown Alzheimer's Day Care Centre
Mitchelstown Day Care Centre is a service ran by the Alzheimer Society of Ireland, the leading provider of dementia-specific services in Ireland. Their services provide person centred support and care, the person with dementia and their family are placed at the centre of the service so that they are actively involved in making decisions.
What's Involved
Volunteers are required to play music and/or sing, do story telling for elderly day care clients. To create a good atmosphere, and have good knowledge of and ability to play Irish traditional music, to encourage the elderly clients to join in, dance and sing for up to 2 hours per week on a Tuesday.
What's required for this position
Musical and instrumental ability, confidence to play and/or sing to people. Knowledge of Traditional Irish music.
