About Highfield Healthcare

Highfield Healthcare provide specialist psychiatric and nursing home care to over 250 residents. Our Alzheimer’s care centre caters for people who have been diagnosed with dementia. Our patients are cared for in an environment appropriate to their needs, where the priority is to preserve their dignity and promote their independence. We operate across two site, Highfield Healthcare on the swords road and our Elmhurst Nursing Home off the Ballymun road.

What's Involved

Volunteer Befrienders play a vital role with Highfield. As a Befriender, you will be involved with:

Sitting with service-users
Chatting to service users
Listening to service-users
Escorting service-users on walks within the hospital or hospital grounds
Assisting with activities agreed by the nurse manager and under the guidance of the Activities Therapist.

Time Commitment:
Flexible depending on your schedule and availability.

What's required for this position

To have a caring attitude, empathy, patience and warmth and to be reliable, flexible and punctual.

Fluent English
