About Down Syndrome Ireland
Down Syndrome Ireland is dedicated to being the primary source of information and support to people with Down syndrome, their families and the professional community.
We are working towards an improved quality of life for our members along with a respect and acceptance of people with Down syndrome as valued members of Irish society.
What's Involved
We are asking our volunteers to pack customers' bags for 2 hours in Dunnes Stores shops on Friday or Saturday 11th or 12th March
We will provide bag packing training/guidelines. There will a supervisor in each store to help with any queries. We will provide t-shirts, buckets and will arrange for the buckets to be emptied.
We will be asking volunteer to greet the customer, offer to pack their bag and approach them in a very professional manner. The heavy goods will be packed first, the vegetables will be packed separately, and the detergents, toiletries can be packed together. We would ask that the volunteer smile and be pleasant to the customers and staff of Dunnes Stores.
This event will take place in Dunnes Stores nationwide on Friday and Saturday 11th and 12th March.
