About Northside Home Care Services
Northside Home Care Services (formerly KARE Social Services) is a charitable organisation which was founded in 1965 by volunteers. Today we provide Home Help, Meals on Wheels, Citizens Information and a Community Minibus service. Our Meals on Wheels kitchen also provides a dinner to residents and locals in one of our sheltered Dublin City Council accommodation kitchens.
Our Mission Statement is to ‘Support and improve quality of life by enabling older people to live independently at home’.
What's Involved
We are looking for volunteer drivers to help deliver meals to hundreds of people in their homes each week.The driver collects the hot nutritious meals from our Community kitchen and delivers to elderly persons in their own homes in the local area.
All hot containers and training is provided.
If you can spare one hour a week, or more if you are keen, between 12 and 1pm, we would love to hear from you.
What's required for this position
1) Clean driving licence and own car.
2) A smiling happy person
3) Knowledge of the geographical area would be helpful but not a requirement
4) Garda Vetting is a requirement and we will assist with this process.
Level of English required for this role:

It is a vital service in our local community to provide a hot meal to the elderly. It is a good way to give back to the community, ensuring older people can stay independently living at home for longer. There is induction training provided.
