About Brothers of Charity Services Ireland

The Brothers of Charity Services provide a range of services to people with intellectual disabilities and/or autism including residential and adult day services, multi-disciplinary supports and family support services.

The Brothers of Charity Service provide a range of age-appropriate services to over 600 people - children (77%) and adults (23%) - with intellectual disability in the Cork & Kerry Region. These services include day, residential, multidisciplinary support services respite and family support services.

The Brothers of Charity Service also provide an adult respite facility to adults in the region. Their aim is to enable each service user with access to the highest standard of service based on their individual requirements.

What's Involved

Brothers of Charity are looking for 2 volunteers to visit and go for walks and drives to their clients in the Bandon area.

To be that special person for someone who has never really had a friend apart from their family.

Support times are once a week for 1-2 hrs.

What's required for this position

Patience, kindness, someone who has the skills to interact with a person with extra support needs.

A good sense of humour is important too.

Intermediate English
