About Tipperary Talking Newspapers
We provide an abridged version of news items from local newspapers in audio format on USB sticks which are then distributed weekly to Blind and visually impaired clients throughout Tipperary and beyond.
What's Involved
We require a person capable of working on their own initiative to manage the day to day running of the service.
• This would involve organising and co ordinating teams of volunteers – developing rotas
• A familiarity with operating all the equipment
• Managing and dealing in confidence with our database of visually impaired clients and maintaining liaison with NCBI resource workers.
• Ensuring equipment, system procedures are maintained to ensure a smooth running of the service.
• Maintaning quality of service or problem solving when issues occur.
• The training of new volunteers in different skills areas i.e. editing, reading and recording and copying the recording to USB memory Sticks.
What's required for this position
People Skills, past managerial experience a bonus not a requisite.
