About Samaritans Ireland
Samaritans' vision is that fewer people die by suicide. We work to achieve this vision by making it our mission to alleviate emotional distress and reduce the incidence of suicidal feelings and behaviour.
What's Involved
Anyone can talk to Samaritans, at any time, about whatever is getting to them. We’re just ordinary people, who give up our time to listen. We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for volunteers. Samaritans is entirely dependent on voluntary support. It’s a challenging experience and it can be very rewarding, knowing that you may have made a difference.
Being a listening volunteer means being part of a supportive branch that works together to reach out to those going through a difficult time.
Commitment of time: volunteers would be required to commit to approx 15 hours per month.
Cork Samaritans Selection Night ,Tuesday 20th February ,7pm at Coach st.
