Breakfast Runner

Dublin Simon Community

About Dublin Simon Community

Dublin Simon Community works to prevent and address homelessness in Dublin, Kildare, Wicklow, Meath, Louth, Cavan and Monaghan. We provide services at all stages of homelessness and enable people to move to a place they can call home.

What's Involved

Our breakfast runners depart from Capel Street at 6am each Friday morning. We are currently trying to extend the service to other mornings during the week. You will distribute food and warm cups of tea or coffee to the rough sleepers of Dublin, before they are moved on from the spots in which they bedded down for the night. While you do not wake people who are asleep, you do stop and have a chat with those who are awake. We bring more than just food and drink - a smile and a little humanity goes a long way.

The breakfast run brings a special type of reward; if you are an early riser, you will start the day knowing that your contribution will have made a big difference in people's lives.
