About Special Heroes Ireland
Special Heroes Ireland is a Non-Profit Voluntary Organisation. It was established in 2015 in Galway City.
The organisation has been developed to provide support services for families who have children with additional needs or disabilities, some of whom have experienced long periods of separation due to extended stays in hospital.
The mission of Special Heroes is to support children with additional needs and those facing long term illness, up to the age of 18 years and their families through peer-socialisation, educational and recreational activities.
The objectives are to promote positive mental health and well-being of the family unit through educational and recreational activities, music, art, mindfulness. peer-to-peer support and therapeutic play as well as parental/guardian(s) support mechanisms.
Our goals are to provide support services for families in the field of mental health, family support and community development.
